Hello my name is Domenica DuPre and I am 15 years old and a
student for the OHS Open Program. The Open
Program is an experimental way of learning that involves four tenants, that
also embraces failure because we see it as an opportunity to grow. The four
tenants that we follow are independence, cross-curricular knowledge,
collaboration, and creative problem solving.
I decided that I wanted to be a part of the Open Program because I saw
the potential in the classes and wanted to try it out for myself. And so far the program has helped me out a
lot by showing me new ways to learn and to approach problems differently. I also use what I learn in Open in my other
classes that aren’t apart of the Open Program, such as biology and government
and politics. I think the program will
benefit in the future, as it’s preparing us for life after high school.
I am Domenica and I am a student for the experimental, study course at Oregon High School called the OHS Open Program.
